WASHINGTON — The Senate has defeated legislation that would have let hundreds of thousands of debt-ridden homeowners seek mortgage relief in bankruptcy court.
Don’t get that excited…this turkey actually got 45 votes!

Teabags are not stopping mail from getting to Congress.
It’s time to up the ante. Why don’t we send them their pork back? Send every Congressdroid who voted for the Spendulus a slice of bacon with the letter. Even if they’re Jewish or Moslem. That’s what they have staff for.
Cuba suspended flights to and from Mexico, becoming the first country to impose a travel ban to the epicenter of the epidemic.
I’m not sure this is wrong… it’s just funny that it would be Cuba.
HB 159 UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE (Skindell, Hagan) ? To establish and operate the Ohio Health Care Plan to provide universal health care coverage to all Ohio residents.
Read the abortion here.
Sponsors and co-sponsors are Demonrats, every one, with a disproportionate number of women and/or African Americans.
Even the lawyers are suffering:
A law firm has cut seven attorneys at its largest office, in Cleveland, and is trimming the pay of its non-partner lawyers by 10 percent.
Cutbacks announced by Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP on Wednesday also include a reduction in first-year salaries from $130,000 to $117,000.

Sorry, honey, it’s the Ace of Spades folks that have corrupted me, with their habit of posting Tea Party babes and such.
“A system of limitless individual choices … is not necessarily in the interest of citizenship and self-government,”
In a 2007 speech at Harvard he called for banning hunting in the U.S.In his book “Radicals in Robes,” he wrote: “[A]lmost all gun control legislation is constitutionally fine. And if the Court is right, then fundamentalism does not justify the view that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to bear arms.”
In his 2004 book, “Animal Rights,” he wrote: “Animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives …”
In “Animal Rights: A Very Short Primer,” he wrote “[T]here should be extensive regulation of the use of animals in entertainment, in scientific experiments, and in agriculture.”
That’s the nominee to head the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs.
“A Spector is haunting Pennsylvania — the Spector of communism.”
It’s so nice to see that Arlen can read the polls. I don’t think that defecting is going to keep him from getting his ass handed to him on a platter, but there’s more honor in losing in the general. What would be really nice would be to be beaten in a Democrat primary.
Now if only Johnny Mac and his yelping bitch would leave too…
CORRECTION: In my riff on the Commie Manifesto, above, I misspelled the Senator’s name. There was no excuse for such a confusion. Spector is the guy who was just convicted of murder. Specter has no convictions.
…we aren’t showing your prime-time press conference during sweeps week.
Good on ‘em, and all, but payback is a bitch, especially if other networks pile on. After all, Fox is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy; it’s got to have been done for political reasons: they want Obama to fail (some more). But I’m glad that a corporation would find some ‘nads.
Evidently the Polish pianist caused quite a stir with his remarks at his LA recital.
Personally, I have to wonder why any European artists play here at all, given what a PITA we make it to come over here. If the TSA had blown up my Steinway, that would have been it for me; I certainly wouldn’t have gone through the hassle that Zimerman did to have the instrument he wanted. Indeed, “that was it” when they started treating passengers as criminals, and I haven’t flown since 9/11. That being said, I go to concerts to hear music, not anti-American lectures, even if I am more in agreement than not with Zimerman’s sentiments.
He’s a great pianist, but there are lots of great pianists in America, and they can all use more work.
