After about 1 1/2″ of rain, things are soggy here. The garden is in good shape for being half underwater. Some of the ground cover I had installed was ripped up by the wind; Rusty suggested angling the ground staples. Most of the things planted around Memorial Day are up; nothing much has drowned. The strawberry harvest is pretty sad; if a berry touches ground or water, it’s rotten. It was good weeding weather if you didn’t mind playing in mud. I got the two wild plums in (transferred from the front yard.)
Traps are set for pests, but thus far the only critter caught has been Patches the cat, who has acted offended all day that his bedtime snack of sardines cost him a night in jail.
