Kasich’s campaign … responded in a statement from Nichols to Ohio’s Capitol Blog: “Not until Ted Strickland feared needing their votes did he give urban Ohioans a second thought. Having grown up in a chicken shack on Duck Run, he has all but ignored our cities’ economies and their workers. It’s a disgraceful record whose pain for urban Ohioans can’t be swept under the rug with a bunch of pretty speeches.”
Lis Smith, a spokeswoman for the governor’s reelection campaign, called the Kasich camp’s comment an insult.
“Only the congressman from Wall Street would be so out of touch as to insult Ted’s humble upbringing.”
Yeah, Kasich has that particular glass house he can’t throw stones from. And given that Republican strength is in the country, why would they want to diss their own? And “doing things for the cities” isn’t really a limited-government vision, is it?
Seriously, given that Preacher Ted has not been absolutely horrible as governor (certainly no Obama, thank God), where’s the downside in voting for Ken Matesz? Aside from the fact that he can’t keep up a website?
