If you’ve been anywhere online today, you’ve encountered NSA’s latest proposal to censor sensor the Net, and probably read better analysis than I’m going to give you here. If you haven’t, here’s a good place to start. Which includes this gem of tone-deafness:
A U.S. military official called the program long overdue and said any intrusion into privacy is no greater than what the public already endures from traffic cameras.
Yeah, that’s the ticket, compare this to one of the most universally loathed local programs. That’ll sell it. And as Mr. Galt points out, the two things are not commensurate at all.
